They expect to see deer, but they experience the antics of all the woodland critters they meet along the way, including possum, coyotes, turkeys, squirrels, rabbits, skunks, and wild pigs. They finally get to see a trophy buck! Alliteration and rhyming verse add interest to the adventure.
