Israel Odewale is a Nigerian who was born in Gbongan, a small town in Osun State. His parents, Daddy Michael Odewale and Mrs Elizabeth Odewale were Christian workers with the Anglican Mission. Israel had a strict Christian upbringing but as he grew older he lost interest in the faith because of his disappointment over the lifestyle of some Christian leaders he met after he left home. Through his father’s intervention, he returned to the church.He had his education both in Nigeria and abroad. He served in the Nigerian army for eighteen years and left with the rank of a Lieutenant Colonel. According to him, he did not regret joining the army because it was there he came closer to God and was called to work for Him. At present he is the Pastor of Narrow Way Christian Fellowship in London - a church he and his wife, Francisca, founded in 1994.
