El presente texto procura ser un humilde aporte para el estudio de las bases del comportamiento de las estructuras de hormigón. En esta quinta edición se han reformado los contenidos, incorporando nuevos capítulos, actualizando y reordenando varias secciones en función de los nuevos lineamientos y prescripciones de los Proyectos de Reglamentos CIRSOC 101-22, CIRSOC 102-24, CIRSOC 200-23 y CIRSOC 201-24. El libro actualizó su división en tres tomos a los efectos de hacer más cómoda y placentera su lectura. El primer tomo posee los contenidos típicos correspondientes a la asignatura Hormigón I de nuestra Facultad, que suelen coincidir con los de otras Universidades. El segundo tomo contiene temas relacionados usualmente con las cátedras de Hormigón II y el tercero lo referido a hormigón pretensado y contenidos complementarios. Esperamos que la opción propuesta sea bien recepcionada por nuestros/as lectores/as, como lo han sido nuestras anteriores ediciones y los restantes libros. De esta forma se desarrollaron 62 capítulos, 164 ejemplos de aplicación, 1750 figuras y 360 tablas.
