Meningeome sind primitive extraparenchymatöse Tumore, die sich in Abhängigkeit von den Arachnoidalzellen entwickeln. Sie machen etwa 20-30 % aller intrakraniellen Tumoren aller Art aus.Diese Tumore können sich aggressiv entwickeln (Meningiome des Grades II und des Grades III). Meningeome des Grades III und vor allem des Grades II sind seltene, wenig erforschte Tumoren, die den Klinikern aufgrund ihrer Aggressivität und/oder ihrer Rezidive Probleme bei der Behandlung bereiten. Die Operation ist die erste Behandlung, die durchgeführt wird. Die zerebrale Strahlentherapie und seltener die Chemotherapie können therapeutische Waffen sein, werden aber weiterhin diskutiert.
