La rete di sensori wireless ha un futuro brillante nel campo delle reti informatiche, perché con l’aiuto di questa tecnologia di rete potremo risolvere i problemi di monitoraggio a un livello avanzato. Dalla ricerca condotta, le caratteristiche principali descrivono che ZigBee può costituire una parte utile dell’architettura del sistema di automazione nelle serre moderne. La comunicazione wireless può essere utilizzata per raccogliere le misure e comunicare tra il controllo centralizzato e gli attuatori situati nelle diverse parti della serra. Nelle soluzioni avanzate di rete di sensori wireless (WSN), alcune parti del sistema di controllo stesso possono essere implementate in modo distribuito nella rete, in modo da formare anelli di controllo locali. Rispetto ai sistemi cablati, l’installazione delle WSN è rapida, economica e semplice. Inoltre, è facile riposizionare i punti di misura quando necessario, semplicemente spostando i nodi sensore da una posizione all’altra entro il raggio di comunicazione del dispositivo coordinatore.
