The Hague Convention on Civil Aspects ofInternational Child Abduction has given rise toconsiderable interest, inevitably, throughout theworld regardless of whether the countries who areforced to take an interest are or are not Statesparties. In recent times, world issues continue toimpinge on the operation of the Convention. One suchaspect has been the influence of matters injurisdictions which have suffered both internal andexternal civil disorders, including disruptions whichmight legitimately be classified as involving partsof jurisdictions, notably Israel, as being zones of war.This monograph seeks to consider the reaction ofcourts in the United Kingdom, Australia and theUnited States to this state of affairs.
