Interior Intimo Meo: Desire, Participation, and the Divine Indwelling invites the reader into the hidden sanctuary of the soul, the silent depth 'more inward than our inmost self,' where human longing meets the divine initiative. Drawing upon two millennia of Christian mystical wisdom, this book unveils a single luminous truth: our deepest desire for God is already God at work within us. Here, the soul’s yearning becomes a sign of the divine Presence; consciousness becomes a window opened by eternal Light; and desire becomes the first movement of theosis, the soul’s blossoming into God.This anthology is not merely a survey of great texts but an invitation into encounter. Its pages reveal that participation in the divine life is not reserved for the few but is the very meaning of existence. Through reflections, prayers, and the resonant testimony of the saints, The Inward Presence guides the reader into the intimate place where God and the soul meet-the virginal point of being where we discover that we live, move, and have our being in the One who dwells within us. This book is a companion for all who seek to awaken to the mystery of divine indwelling and to the joyous truth that God’s love is perpetually drawing us into communion.
