Os métodos de compactação têm uma influência significativa na qualidade do concreto asfáltico, pois uma compactação insuficiente leva à deformação prematura, envelhecimento excessivo e danos causados pela humidade. Este livro estuda a influência dos métodos de compactação giratória, rolo e martelo na resistência à tração indireta, resistência ao cisalhamento por punção e características Marshall de amostras de concreto asfáltico preparadas em laboratório. Os resultados dos testes foram analisados estatisticamente. Foram obtidos modelos matemáticos que correlacionam as propriedades físicas do concreto asfáltico obtidas pelas três técnicas de compactação mencionadas.
