I have written this book in hope that the reader would draw closer to our Lord Jesus Christ by seeing why Jesus Christ is so important in our lives and what he has ultimately done for us through his sacrifice on the cross. I have had the vision for this book since I was a young child, but I pushed it out of my mind and went through life like everyone else. I continued to hear his still, small voice telling me to write this story that he had placed in my mind, but I foolishly did not listen.I committed many sins against Jesus, and at times I even considered myself the head sinner amongst my peers. All the time, however, Jesus was calling me to return to him. I am embarrassed to recall all the wrongs I have committed in my life. Even after I became a Christian, I still did things I shouldn’t have done. I know I will never be without sin while I am still cloaked in this body of flesh, but as time passes and I put more years behind me than I have before me, I pray that I will draw closer to Jesus. I am so thankful for God’s mercy and for Jesus’ sacrifice on the cross for all my sins so that I might rejoice and rejoin them in heaven. Even though I don’t deserve it, Jesus paid the price for all my sins, and my salvation is assured in him. To God be the eternal glory!

We’ve been duped into removing prayer from the center of our churches and have placed it on the periphery or semi-periphery.  What we’re witnessing today in our churches, and in society at large, is that legacy of prayerlessness.  Church leadership may be hesitant and embarrassed to admit it, but there is a direct correlation between our spiritual weakness and our lack of corpo...

If God is good, why do we get sick? When God created the world, He declared: "It is good." But then came the Fall, and with it sickness and death. In this heart-tugging monograph, Dr. Davis McGuirt draws from both his training in theology and the personal agony of watching his father die from cancer to provide a variety of biblical reasons for why we get sick. We are also remin...
