Flavonoids are bioactive secondary metabolites of plants that belong to a large family of low molecular weight compounds and have a polyphenolic structure. This comprehensive book explores the therapeutic potential of novel flavonoid derivatives in combating diabetic cataractogenesis. Utilizing a multi-disciplinary approach, the research integrates in silico molecular docking to identify high-affinity aldose reductase inhibitors (ARIs) with traditional chemical synthesis and characterization techniques. The core of the investigation lies in a rigorous in vitro evaluation using isolated goat lenses, demonstrating how these specialized compounds retard lens opacification and mitigate oxidative stress.
