In India environmental pollution is increasing with the increase of industrialization about 50 tones of dust, grime musk and general yech per kilometers is said to settle down on each of our big cities and agricultural area. The pollution of soil by industrial effluent is a serious problem not only in India but in all developing and developed countries. The industrial wastes are mainly inorganic compounds, organic compounds and non- biodegradable substances, which change the soil permanently. These toxic chemicals though soil and waste enter into vegetables, grains and fruits etc and also enter into food chains of human beings and are responsible for number of disease and even cancer.Keeping above view in mind, present study has carried out to observe the effects of pollutant on soil properties, analysis of toxic metals in the chemicals waste or dust polluted soil and to assess the growth and yield of agricultural crops in soil of polluted area. For that, the area surrounding various types of industrial zones such as, Rubber, Chemicals, Fertilizers, Pigment- Dye, Paint and Ceramic industries situated at Dombivli MIDC in Thane district has been selected as affected area.
