Nel contesto storico della salute indigena, la questione ha affrontato importanti transizioni. Nel 2007, all’interno dell’organismo indigeno Fonai è stato creato un Coordinamento specifico che si occupa delle problematiche delle donne indigene. Obiettivo: descrivere l’assistenza sanitaria delle donne indigene attraverso la letteratura. Quando si fa ricerca su un argomento che viene sempre affrontato, ma non si è mai veramente in grado di trattare e curare questo popolo, a causa della sua cultura e delle sue credenze, è una bella sfida. Le popolazioni indigene preferiscono sempre curare le patologie acquisite attraverso erbe, rituali o altri tipi di credenze.
