Este estudo avaliou a implementação da Gestão da Redução do Risco de Catástrofes (GRD) na Escola Secundária Nacional de Magallanes como base de intervenção. Foi utilizado um método de inquérito normativo descritivo, com um questionário de investigação validado, distribuído a 340 alunos, 70 professores e 13 funcionários não docentes selecionados através de uma amostragem aleatória estratificada. Os resultados mostraram que o ponto de reunião de emergência foi classificado como moderadamente seguro, a 40 metros dos edifícios e livre de linhas eléctricas, postes e árvores. No entanto, os recursos e equipamentos de resposta a incêndios foram classificados como baixos. Os alunos classificaram o 'suporte básico de vida' como o programa de GRD com melhor desempenho, enquanto os professores deram prioridade aos 'Primeiros Socorros Padrão' e o pessoal não docente classificou o 'Exercício de Terramoto' como o mais elevado. Foram encontradas diferenças significativas na forma como os alunos, professores e pessoal não docente avaliaram a implementação da GRD. Todas as variáveis estudadas tiveram um 'Grande Efeito' na extensão da implementação do DRRM.
