Os implantes zigomáticos são implantes dentários avançados destinados a pacientes com reabsorção maxilar grave. Estes implantes actuam como substitutos dos implantes tradicionais. Esta técnica sem enxertos, também conhecida como técnica Zigomática, foi introduzida pelo Prof. Per Ingvar Branemark. Os implantes zigomáticos são inseridos no osso zigomático para dar suporte aos dentes maxilares, pontes e próteses. Os implantes zigomáticos são indicados em indivíduos completamente desdentados com atrofia maxilar grave. Estes implantes também podem ser combinados com implantes axiais. Os implantes zigomáticos estão disponíveis em comprimentos que variam de 30 a 52,5 mm. A cabeça do implante zigomático foi concebida para permitir a fixação da prótese num ângulo de 45 graus em relação ao eixo longo do implante. Estes implantes também podem ser utilizados em pacientes que têm dentes móveis devido a doenças como a periodontite agressiva generalizada. A taxa de sucesso dos implantes zigomáticos registada a nível mundial é de 97-98%.
