Badania na zwierzętach i ludziach wykazały, że implanty tytanowe są dobrze tolerowane, a kość integruje się z porowatymi lub gwintowanymi powierzchniami, zwiększając stabilność. W przeciwieństwie do tego, materiały takie jak Vitallium mogą korodować, wywoływać reakcje zapalne, a nawet uszkadzać sąsiednie struktury anatomiczne.
