This volume is the next in Soldiershop’s book series on the Turkish Army. It looks at the uniforms of the Army of Generals, and the Imperial Guard from 1879 till 1909 under Sultan Abdul Hamid II. There were several main units - Palace Guard Company, Halberdiers, Albanians, Syrian-Tripolitan Zouave, Ertugrul and 1st Lancers Cavalry. The volume also looks at palace duty uniforms worn by troops sent from the Hassa Ordusu: Guards’ Army. This volume will also cover the Fire Soldiers and the Engineers who feature historically in the military activities associated with the palace. For completeness, the uniforms of the remaining Palace Guards after 1909 are included.
