A nova geração de automóveis é a chamada Plug-in Hybrid Electric Vehicles (PHEVs), que tem a capacidade de conexão à rede elétrica. Com a introdução desses veículos, as questões relacionadas à rede elétrica serão conectadas ao setor de transporte privado pela primeira vez. Do ponto de vista da rede elétrica, os automóveis podem ser considerados como uma carga regular com determinado fator de potência. Os efeitos deste tipo de nova carga na rede de distribuição são estudados neste trabalho. Esta investigação aborda o impacto do carregamento das baterias dos veículos elétricos plug-in (PEVs) no sistema de distribuição em termos de desequilíbrio de tensão em vários locais, sobrecarga dos transformadores e perfil de carga da rede de distribuição. Neste trabalho, foi modelada uma rede de distribuição de 11 kV utilizando o software Dig SILENT Fábrica de energia.
