Questo libro presenta uno studio interculturale tra Brasile e Portogallo che ha utilizzato dati raccolti in Brasile. Si tratta inoltre di uno studio innovativo, in quanto ha utilizzato dati sistematizzati in un approccio empirico che ha cercato di identificare le immagini sociali dei bambini di status socioeconomico medio e basso e dei bambini in istituto, utilizzando una metodologia quantitativa e qualitativa. I risultati hanno dimostrato che esistono credenze negative sui bambini poveri e istituzionalizzati che interferiscono con la loro integrazione sociale, data la discriminazione, l’esclusione e gli stereotipi di cui sono vittime. Questo libro si propone quindi di contribuire alla riflessione sulla discriminazione della povertà e dell’istituzionalizzazione e di migliorare la qualità degli interventi, visto che è giunto il momento di garantire i diritti a tutti i bambini in modo equo e solidale. Si tratta quindi di un’opera che può essere di aiuto a studiosi, ricercatori e persone interessate a questo tema. Buona lettura!
