Les erreurs de transmission dans le format JPEG2000 peuvent être regroupées en trois catégories principales, en fonction de la zone affectée : LL, hautes fréquences aux niveaux de décomposition inférieurs, et hautes fréquences aux niveaux de décomposition supérieurs. Le premier type d’erreurs est le plus gênant, mais peut être masqué en exploitant le signal spatialement. Le deuxième type d’erreurs est moins gênant, mais plus difficile à masquer. Le troisième type d’erreurs est souvent imperceptible. Cet ouvrage vise à résoudre le problème du masquage des erreurs lorsque les plans de bits élevés sont endommagés en proposant une nouvelle approche basée sur la théorie des projections sur des ensembles convexes. Ainsi, les effets des erreurs sont masqués en appliquant de manière interactive deux procédures : le filtrage passe-bas (LP) dans le domaine spatial et la restauration des coefficients d’ondelettes non corrompus dans le domaine de la transformée. Il a été observé qu’un filtrage LP uniforme entraînait des effets secondaires indésirables qui compensaient négativement les avantages. Ce problème a été surmonté en appliquant une solution adaptative, qui exploite une carte des contours pour choisir la taille optimale du masque de filtrage. Les résultats de la simulation ont démontré l’efficacité de la méthode proposée.
