José de la Concepción Maceo González ist eine der Persönlichkeiten, die im 20. Jahrhundert in der sozio-politischen Sphäre Kubas hervorstachen, eine Phase, die in den 40er Jahren ihren Höhepunkt erreichte. Er war Mitglied der Verfassungsgebenden Versammlung im Jahr 1940, Mitglied des Abgeordnetenhauses der Provinz Oriente, Kuba von 1940 bis 1944, Stadtrat von Palma Soriano (1944-1946), Bürgermeister der Gemeinde Palma Soriano (1946-1948) und Gouverneur der Provinz Oriente von 1948 bis zu seinem Tod im Jahr 1951. Aus diesem Grund haben wir uns zum Ziel gesetzt, die Lücken in der Biografie von Dr. Maceo González zu schließen und seine Herkunft, sein familiäres, soziales und berufliches Leben sowie seine soziopolitischen Aktivitäten zu rekonstruieren. Es handelt sich um eine Forschungsarbeit, um den Mann zu enthüllen, der 1948 zum Gouverneur der Provinz Oriente ernannt wurde und dieses Amt bis zu seinem Tod 1951 innehatte.
