Molte persone interessate nella questione ebraica sono solite chiedere se ci sia o no qualcosa nel Talmud che non sia bello e sublime e completamente estraneo a qualsiasi espressione che possa sembrare odio verso i cristiani. La confusione di opinioni a questo riguardo è talmente grande che, a sentire coloro che trattano l’argomento con tanta apparente saggezza, si penserebbe che stessero parlando di una razza antica e lontana dai nostri tempi, e non del popolo di Israele che vive in mezzo a noi secondo un codice morale immutabile che continua anche oggi a regolare la loro vita religiosa e sociale. Stando così le cose, ho intrapreso il compito di dimostrare ciò che veramente insegna il Talmud a proposito dei cristiani, per potere in tal modo soddisfare i desideri di coloro che vogliono conoscere questa dottrina da fonti originali.A questo scopo, ho tradotto i più noti libri talmudici che fanno riferimento ai cristiani e ho disposto queste fonti in ordine tale da dare una chiara idea dell’immagine del cristiano che il Talmud presenta agli ebrei.
