Lo scopo di questo lavoro è presentare il rapporto aureo in odontoiatria e verificare la relazione tra il rapporto aureo e l’estetica del viso prima e dopo il trattamento ortodontico utilizzando radiografie cefalometriche laterali e fotografie frontali e laterali. Sono state utilizzate radiografie cefalometriche laterali e fotografie frontali e laterali di 67 individui prima e dopo il trattamento ortodontico. È stato sviluppato un programma cefalometrico in Delphi 7.0, contenente l’analisi cefalometrica di questo studio di ricerca. I rapporti A-Pog/V1S-C1MS, Ena-Enp/V1S-C1MS e V1S-C1MS/C1MS-DM16 differivano in modo statisticamente significativo nel confronto tra prima e dopo il trattamento ortodontico. Il rapporto V1S-C1MS/C1MS-DM16 non era in rapporto aureo prima del trattamento ed è diventato in rapporto aureo dopo il trattamento. Solo il rapporto N-Ena/V1S-DM16 differiva in modo statisticamente significativo nel confronto tra prima e dopo il trattamento. Il rapporto A-Pog/V1S-DM16 era dorato prima del trattamento e non lo era più dopo.
