Due anonimi ragazzi percorrono viale Trieste sopra un vecchio Vespino senza conoscere esattamente la loro destinazione: l’importante è il viaggio, assaporando il calore delle braccia che avvolgono il corpo mentre il ponentino solletica le pietre e rinfresca le statue. In un movimento che a torto crediamo oggettivo, molti accadimenti continuano a sembrarci possibili, come un rocambolesco weekend di due turisti belgi nella vecchia città decadente o un misterioso happening che potrebbe tramutare le miserie d’un fallito nel successo d’un buon investimento. Oppure, come l’improvvisa voglia di scrocchiarella in una piccola pizzeria di quartiere. Altri eventi pensiamo non ci riguardino mai, come la disperazione d’uno psicopatico feticista costretto a nascondere le proprie ossessioni alla vecchia madre o il ricordo della tresca amorosa fra un liceale impreparato e la propria insegnante di greco. Infine, la solitudine di chi, al termine d’una lunga vita grama, trascorre il suo tempo a osservare dalla finestra i parrocchetti al tramonto che si librano in cielo verso direzioni misteriose. Il cuore di Roma, quello impalpabile, quello imperscrutabile, risucchia con la propria essenza i personaggi che la vivono, quasi increduli di trovarsi in quel luogo, in quel momento, in quella situazione, peraltro inconsapevoli d’attendere - ognuno alla propria maniera - l’alba d’un nuovo giorno.
