我永远感念北大对我的培养和锻炼。 北大学习的五年生活，经历了反胡风，批胡 适，反右派，大跃进，人民公社，反右倾等政治运动。我在这部回忆录里，如实记下了我的回忆和根据日记写下的史实。这将对后人了解我们这一 代人和中国历史是有价值的民间记忆。这些历史让我今天进一步思考时代和人生。 北大，是有民主传统的大学。从五四开始，到 后来中共的诞生，李大钊先生组织马克思主义研究会；北大文科学长陈独秀组织共产党，北大学生邓中夏、张国涛等都是最早的共产党员；毛泽东曾是北大图书馆管理员，是一个工资最低的职 工。北大与中共有极密切的关系。我们在北大写反映五四运动的电影剧本，让我有机会了解更多的北大与中共的历史。如果没有蔡元培校长的 '兼容并包，独立思想'教育思想的实践，不会有 北大的五四运动。1957年519运动，是五四精神的继续。我们虽在党化的教育中，但北大的民主传统，仍影响着我们。这就为我后来思想解放，敢说真话，奠定了基础。
