Anche le donne lavoratrici saranno al centro di questo studio, in uno scenario economico in continua evoluzione, poiché un gran numero di lavoratori di queste industrie sono donne.In India ci sono 58 milioni di imprese che danno lavoro a 104 milioni di persone. Esse contribuiscono al 31% del PIL. Il settore non organizzato in India comprende circa il 92% della popolazione attiva e contribuisce in modo significativo alla ricchezza nazionale, ma i lavoratori di questo settore non hanno ricevuto attenzione, soprattutto da parte dei sociologi.
