'I AM a Chameleon' is a book about the possible social and emotional affects of having experienced abuse as a child. In this story, the main character describes how she has grown up 'blending into her surroundings', like a chameleon, to keep safe. As she grows up and her family changes, she realizes the importance of being able to talk about her emotions. Although she continues to struggle with her emotions, she continues to grow stronger and take charge of who she is.
