Mojdeh Nasseri was born on June 25, 1978. She has a bachelor in science and nutrition and is a registered dietitian in Iran. When she was 13, she started to write quotes and poems, she wrote her first story when she was 17, but she never got around to publishing it. Her first-ever diary was pink, and she wrote about school. Ever since youth, she wanted to be an actress who could play every role so that she could get inspired by the characters she played so she could create new stories and characters. She was born in Tehran, Iran. She writes these poems and quotes based on her feelings. She says 'it’s not like every day or any moment you can just get up and say I’m going to write something about spring, no it doesn’t work like that for me, my inspiration can be all the way down to music and love, when these things come to my mind I just write. I don’t think I write. It’s like when a waterfall flows down and can just move so peacefully into the body of water below.' The first time she ever saw the Oprah Winfrey show, she instantly knew she wanted to be a writer that was introduced to the world through Oprah, even though she lived in Iran. One of her biggest dreams is to be on Oprah so she can introduce her book to the world. Ever since she moved to Canada, she continued to follow her dream so she could become an inspiration just like Oprah. To tell every woman, especially, Persian women that you shouldn’t be afraid to follow your dreams no matter how big they are and to tell them that nothing is impossible when you put your mind to it. 'Another thing is that you do not need to depend on anybody to achieve your dreams.' in Persian Mojdeh means a good message, so she wants everyone she meets to receive a good message from her. Even though she spent her childhood during a war and her teenage years living out the aftermath of the war, she says, 'she was a leaf in a storm that came out perfectly fine.'

    Jennifer Chrystie
‘There’s a touch of both Dickinson and Larkin in Jennifer Chrystie’s mature exhumation of the tales and tropes of family. Figures who could so easily flit like phantoms in her well honed poetry are palpably enjoying an after-life in the poet’s ability to redeem through deep understanding. The collection arcs from, at one extreme, the parsimonies of the household, to the transce...

  • One Kiss
    Edward V Bonner
The very title of Edward V. Bonner's first volume of poetry, One Kiss (Ingram, 2015), suggests some ways in which the poems inside balance the universal with the particular. Most of the poems examine the themes of beauty and risk, pleasure and danger, in the context of one of three kinds of relationships: to romantic partners, to the spiritual world, and to the world of nature....
