Aedes aegypti est le vecteur qui transmet la dengue, ainsi que Zika et Chikungunya. L’incidence de ces maladies a augmenté dans de nombreuses régions du monde au cours des dernières années. Comme il n’existe pas de vaccin contre ces maladies, la meilleure façon de les combattre est de s’attaquer au vecteur, principalement en éliminant les lieux de ponte et de développement des larves. Les insecticides organophosphorés sont actuellement utilisés à des doses de plus en plus élevées, ce qui a entraîné la sélection de populations de moustiques résistants. Afin de contribuer à la lutte contre les larves d’Aedes aegypti, cette étude a extrait l’huile essentielle de l’espèce Aniba duckei Kostermans, étudié ses caractéristiques physiques, sa composition chimique et son analyse thermique, et l’a testée en tant que larvicide contre les larves de moustiques Aedes aegypti aux troisième et quatrième stades.
