How We Are Healed is a 'first aid' resource for the deep problems we all face in life. From wherever we are today, it offers comfort and hope to soothe our fears and anxiety. The book starts with the existence of God, because that is the only way we can have any meaning to our existence, and because God has a plan for each of us. Each chapter deals with a specific subject, like divorce, illness, death, parenting issues, finances, or addictions and provides immediate help to the desperate reader who might be experiencing that difficulty with Biblical advice from a variety of sources. I also try to provide a path for long-term help and healing by recommending more in-depth books, websites or seeking professional Christian counsel. This has been the path that has helped me, and I believe it will help anyone who is looking for healing.Jeffrey Driscoll is a Christian husband, father and stepfather. He is an airline captain who is a witness and example of what God will do when we allow Him to fix our broken lives. Jeffrey spent eight years serving in the United States Marine Corps and is an FAA certificated aircraft mechanic and flight instructor. He has flown over 10,000 hours in Boeing 727, 757 and 767 jets for a major airline since 1988. He has lived in Wisconsin, California, Arizona and Hawaii before settling in Kentucky.Jeffrey and his wife, Dr. Melanie Driscoll, who is an audiologist, currently reside in Louisville, where they own an audiology practice. Together they have three boys and three girls ranging in age from 20 months to 20 years old as of mid 2007.Every day is a challenge, but we have the promises of God!Jeffrey Driscoll

There is a dark side to light, you know.  Evil wears many disguises.  It always camouflages itself as other than it is; and, good men are deceived.  The very nature of deception is that the deceived do not know that they are deceived.  There is a dark side to light, you know.  In the midst of the darkness – the children of light!  The backdrop – spiritual warfare. This Christia...

We’ve been duped into removing prayer from the center of our churches and have placed it on the periphery or semi-periphery.  What we’re witnessing today in our churches, and in society at large, is that legacy of prayerlessness.  Church leadership may be hesitant and embarrassed to admit it, but there is a direct correlation between our spiritual weakness and our lack of corpo...

If God is good, why do we get sick? When God created the world, He declared: "It is good." But then came the Fall, and with it sickness and death. In this heart-tugging monograph, Dr. Davis McGuirt draws from both his training in theology and the personal agony of watching his father die from cancer to provide a variety of biblical reasons for why we get sick. We are also remin...
