Hortus Inclusus: Messages From The Wood To The Garden, Sent In The Happy Days To The Sister Ladies Of The Thwaite, Coniston is a book written by John Ruskin. The book is a collection of letters that Ruskin wrote to two sisters, who lived in the Thwaite estate in Coniston, during the years of 1874-1884. The letters are written in a poetic style and are filled with Ruskin’s reflections on nature, art, and life. The book is divided into four parts, each focusing on a different aspect of the garden and its relationship to the surrounding landscape. The first part is dedicated to the flower garden, the second to the kitchen garden, the third to the orchard, and the fourth to the woodlands. Ruskin’s writing is characterized by his deep love and appreciation for nature, as well as his belief that art and beauty can be found in all aspects of life. The book is a beautiful tribute to the natural world and a reminder of the importance of preserving it.This scarce antiquarian book is a facsimile reprint of the old original and may contain some imperfections such as library marks and notations. Because we believe this work is culturally important, we have made it available as part of our commitment for protecting, preserving, and promoting the world’s literature in affordable, high quality, modern editions, that are true to their original work.
