He fished 11 tournaments in Hawaii alone. He fished on Lake Erie and in Canada for seven years for walleyes, and on Lake Murray, South Carolina, for stripers for five years. He has also caught 13 marlins. During the 1990s he won over $200,000 in different tournaments. He fished in Pinas Bay, Panama, at the Tropic Star Lodge and became friends with Bobby Brown, one of the top captains in the world. He fished in the Bay Point tournament for four years and won $120,000. In the Firecracker Open in Hawaii he won $48,000 in the Calcuttas. In 2017 for his 70th birthday, he went out of Murrells Inlet, North Carolina, and had a great day catching dolphin.
