Es geht um Irrungen und Wirrungen, Intelligenz und Durchhaltevermögen, Gefühle der Ohnmacht, Akzeptanz des Unabwendbaren, aber auch das Nicht-Erkennen des eigenen Paradieses. Das Buch besticht durch den Ansatz, die Seele selbst - singend das griechische Original kommentierend - zu Wort kommen zu lassen. So wird Homer neu formuliert und rezitiert, sekundiert von den immerwährenden Worten der Seele. Damit wird gezeigt, wie Probleme, Hoffnungen und Sehnsüchte der Menschen von damals auch heute noch hoch aktuell sind.
