Serge R. Pospelov, born in the USSR, reflects on a tumultuous journey in the military school, further survice in the artillery unit and Artillery Academy in St.Petersburg during collapse of USSR and his path to a decision to leave Russia in his book 'HISTORY OF DISEASE:ARMY.' His narrative encompasses the sarcastic nuances of life in the USSR, Russia and the Russian Army, detailing the struggles, survival, and disappointments during the tumult of the 1990s. 'HISTORY OF DISEASE. ESCAPE' contains memoir about his unsuccesseful attempts to leave the country, by trying to join Azerbaijani Army and attempts to immigrate to Norway or Iraq leading to his imprisonment under suspicion of espionage.
