Conduzidas por diferentes pesquisadores, a partir de distintas instituições universitárias, este livro é uma bela amostra dos efeitos virtuosos da cooperação generosa. Se os esportistas do início do século XX se reuniram a fim de organizar clubes, ligas e campeonatos, os pesquisadores no início do século XXI o fazem para viabilizar suas pesquisas e a publicação de um livro sobre aquelas atividades. Em ambos os casos, um admirável e bem-sucedido esforço autônomo para dar forma às próprias iniciativas esteve em marcha.
