The many names of God used by men and women of the Bible to refer to their individual confrontations with Him or His messengers reveals God as nothing else can. In His Excellent Name my father has selected thirty names from the Bible which emphasize God’s unique attributes and character traits. The thorough analysis and application of these names to contemporary believers make this book both informative and inspirational. The thirty day devotional format chosen makes reading easy and gives daily encouragement. There is also the option of selecting and studying any name of interest by referring to the helpful Table of Contents. Through the prayerful study of the names of God included in this book, Divine involvement in every detail of your life can be discovered and experienced every day. For the treasure of God’s Word and the ministry of my father I am thankful.Charles Byron Allen, PhDDr. Byron Allen, Jr. is a retired Baptist pastor (SBC) of over 60 years experience. We’ve been duped into removing prayer from the center of our churches and have placed it on the periphery or semi-periphery.  What we’re witnessing today in our churches, and in society at large, is that legacy of prayerlessness.  Church leadership may be hesitant and embarrassed to admit it, but there is a direct correlation between our spiritual weakness and our lack of corpo...

If God is good, why do we get sick? When God created the world, He declared: "It is good." But then came the Fall, and with it sickness and death. In this heart-tugging monograph, Dr. Davis McGuirt draws from both his training in theology and the personal agony of watching his father die from cancer to provide a variety of biblical reasons for why we get sick. We are also remin...
