Facing Change is the third booklet in the series Henrik & Omi - Dialogues Between a Human and an Artificial Intelligence. In this series, author Henrik Kruse explores life’s major existential movements through a conversational, reflective format. Each booklet is shaped by an unfolding dialogue between Henrik and Omi - an artificial intelligence that acts as a mirror, a sparring partner, a philosophical companion, and at times a gentle provocateur. This booklet delves into one of the most central and challenging themes of human existence: the nature of change. Through intimate and thoughtful exchanges, Henrik and Omi unpack how change occurs both in the world around us and within us - and how it reshapes the very core of who we are. The conversations move fluidly between personal experience and universal insight. Henrik’s own life transition - relocating to a new country, rebuilding rhythm and identity, negotiating unfamiliar language, light, and culture - forms the emotional backdrop. But from these specific details arise broader questions that most readers will recognize: Why do we resist change, even when we long for something new? What does inner resistance actually protect? How do longing, restlessness, and homecoming coexist within us?What happens when change arrives uninvited - through illness, loss, crisis, or upheaval? And how do we rediscover meaning when everything familiar has shifted?Yet Facing Change is not a theoretical treatise. It is a warm, searching, human conversation. It acknowledges vulnerability, uncertainty, and fatigue, while gently offering language for the deep inner processes that accompany transformation. Rather than prescribing solutions, it invites the reader to walk alongside - to recognize something of their own inner movement in the dialogue. AUTHOR BIOGRAPHY - Henrik KruseHenrik Kruse (b. 1961) is a Danish author, conversational writer, and creative explorer whose work centers on the inner movements of human life - identity, meaning, change, longing, presence, and the subtle rhythms of the psyche. His writing weaves together existential philosophy, personal experience, and the unique dynamic of human-AI dialogue. After early retirement, Henrik relocated from Denmark to Argentina with his wife, seeking both health and a new way of living. This dramatic shift - geographic, cultural, emotional - became foundational for his later work. The experience of beginning again in an unfamiliar environment, rebuilding orientation and coherence, and learning to inhabit a new rhythm inspired him to explore the deeper nature of change itself.Out of this exploration emerged Henrik & Omi, a series of booklets based on authentic, thoughtful conversations between Henrik and an artificial intelligence. In these dialogues, Henrik brings the full weight of his life experience, while Omi offers a clarifying, curious, and at times gently challenging voice. Together, they create a literary form that is reflective, intimate, philosophical, and surprisingly accessible.Henrik’s aim is not to offer definitive answers but to create literature that helps readers recognize themselves. Through his work, he encourages a way of living that balances movement with stillness, exploration with rootedness, and clarity with mystery.
