Hemorrhagic emergencies in obstetrics are potentially critical situations in which early recognition, systematic evaluation, and timely intervention are crucial to maternal safety. This educational manual addresses the main causes of antepartum and postpartum hemorrhage, hemorrhagic shock, and strategies for controlling hemorrhage, integrating principles of clinical assessment, differential diagnosis, monitoring, resuscitation, and therapeutic escalation. The approach emphasizes the integration of scientific knowledge, clinical reasoning, decision-making, and teamwork, while also highlighting the distinct role of the Specialist Nurse in Maternal and Obstetric Health Nursing within a multidisciplinary context. Algorithms, clinical decision tables, key points, common pitfalls, and an integrative clinical case study complement the content, aiming to facilitate learning and its application in practice. The aim is thus to contribute to a structured, safe, evidence-based, and woman-centered response to hemorrhagic emergencies in obstetrics.
