But I looked upon myself and understood. I had no family save distant relations, sixty years under the sun, though to look at me, it seemed forty, and as only a few knew of me, I had been developing a latent sight long ignored in my youth, now unavoidable. What I see with my eyes, my mind remembers as though always present, and the more I remember, the more I can predict and visualize what is to come. By this, I questioned the relevance of the past and future. Are they truly real or mere constructs of failed memory? For I see so many things as now happening, now being... Without a dot of resistance, I agreed to go with her. I saw that there was no reason to refuse her, that all prior events led to this, a collection of elements harmonizing to attune to this one moment... I had the sight, and she knew it. She could see it in me, in my eyes. That is what she was most proud of... being remembered.
