The Murray family is facing starvation, eviction from their home, and death during the devastating Potato Famine in Ireland.  The family’s young son, Aidan, has a plan.  In order to save his family, he and his sister, Bridget, journey to the dell to capture a leprechaun and persuade him to give them a few pieces of gold.  But once captured, will the leprechaun share his wealth?    Heart of Gold combines historical fiction and humor to demonstrate the love that the impoverished Murray family has maintained throughout troubled times. It stresses the importance of the family unit, which should be the strength of modern society, and proves that, in the end, love conquers all.About the AuthorKatherine Lydon Wollaston is retired after 32 years as an elementary school teacher and administrator.
