'Healing while Hurting' is a book about grief and growth. I have been writing ever since I could hold a pen. I have always found writing as a way to express myself. My love of poetry started in the fourth grade, thanks to my teacher Barbara Schmidt. In my first ever self-published book, I have gathered some of my poems and reflections directly from my Facebook posts and journals. Over the last 6 years after losing my dad to liver cancer, this has helped me with my grieving and healing process. This book is about honor, remembrance, reflection, and sharing my truth- in hopes to help others feel brave enough to accept their true feelings and thoughts when dealing with grief. I hope you will follow me on this journey that is always ending and beginning again. This book is another step in my healing process, and I hope my experiences can help at least one person out there. If you leave with anything, I hope you leave with knowing it is ok to not be ok. And it is ok to be ok. All of your feelings when grieving and healing are valid.There is no wrong or right way through this.
