'He Even Made the Leaves Dance' is a collection of 'Tapestries' created while living in Heidelberg, Germany, and travelling within Europe.A bittersweet saga of a woman living & writing for a Magazine in Manhattan, and going on a sabatical of sorts to visit friends from Amerika now living in Heidelberg. There is no true beginning to the writings, no middle, and trully no end...just an outpouring of thoughts while living there.Taking liberty with imagination and just putting pen to paper.Just when the reader begins to think it is a story, it gets unjointed, wanders off into other waters or pathways...but always seems to find itself right back where it all began.Life is and can be disjointed, yet we all have lights to help guide our way.The dream for 'He Even Made the Leaves Dance' is that it will sit/rest on people’s kaffee tables, nightstands, kitchen windowsills... and just send out an energy that it desires to be picked up.No table of contents necessary.Whether a reader reads the first 'tapestry', one in the middle, or the last 'tapestry' the gift hoped for is that the reader will find something on the pages they chose to read, that will enable them to see their own reflection.A saga from birth to death, and every imaginal occurrence in between. So please sit back, settle in, and take a look inside...I know you will see yourself...smiling back at yourself, the reader. If any of the contents enables you to feel...than my gift back to the Universe has been accomplished....Namaste

‘There’s a touch of both Dickinson and Larkin in Jennifer Chrystie’s mature exhumation of the tales and tropes of family. Figures who could so easily flit like phantoms in her well honed poetry are palpably enjoying an after-life in the poet’s ability to redeem through deep understanding. The collection arcs from, at one extreme, the parsimonies of the household, to the transce...

    Edward V Bonner
The very title of Edward V. Bonner's first volume of poetry, One Kiss (Ingram, 2015), suggests some ways in which the poems inside balance the universal with the particular. Most of the poems examine the themes of beauty and risk, pleasure and danger, in the context of one of three kinds of relationships: to romantic partners, to the spiritual world, and to the world of nature....

  • The Truth about A

In his interpretation of Antigone, Seamus Heaney says, ‘Nobody can be sure they are always right.’ Maureen O’Shaughnessy’s The Truth about A further attends to this idea through various readings of the myth as portrayed by Sophocles, Brecht, Ted Hughes, Anne Carson and, most particularly, Euripides.
