So entstand dieses Handbuch, das mir angeblich die ersten Begriffe der Harmonielehre vermitteln und sie von den Tonleitern an tiefer studiert haben soll, die grundlegende Terminologie, Akkorde, Funktionen, harmonische Kadenzen, harmonische Märsche, Modulation, Stimmführung, fremde Noten, die Ausdruckskraft der Tonarten und Merkmale der Intervalle, die Physik und die Geschichte der Harmonie sind ebenfalls Teil dieses Lehrbuchs.Das Studium der tonalen Harmonie erfordert ein eifriges Bemühen und einen ausdauernden Willen. Ich habe versucht, in diesem Handbuch die methodischen Schritte anzugeben, keine Lücken zu lassen und die tatsächlichen Schwierigkeiten, die den Leser erwarten, so weit wie möglich zu glätten.
