Na het verschijnen van de eerste editie van het Handboek leefstijlgeneeskunde in 2020 hebben zich veel nieuwe ontwikkelingen voorgedaan. Dit was voor de redactie reden om twee nieuwe hoofdstukken toe te voegen aan het Handboek leefstijlgeneeskunde. Dit addendum is te gebruiken als toevoeging op de eerste druk van het boek.Deze aanvulling biedt een nieuw hoofdstuk van Daan de Frel, Wim Dik en Pieter Leenen over het immuunsysteem (inclusief COVID-19) en samenhangende ziekten. Daarnaast schreven Yvo Sijpkens, Bas Houweling en Henk Bilo een nieuw hoofdstuk over diabetes mellitus type 2.Het boek is bedoeld voor iedereen die werkt in de zorg en zich weleens afvraagt of het ook anders kan; meer gezondheid en kwaliteit van leven, minder medicijnen en bijwerkingen, meer eigen regie van patiënten en meer werkplezier.
