Winter is a season of frozen beauty and the slowing of time, as a white breath falls against the browning leaves and winter tightens her grip over the sleeping landscape. It is a time of solitude and reflection as people and animals shelter from the cold as a frozen quietness settles on the countryside. This enchanting collection will keep you company for every day of winter. A note from the author - ’I read my poetry at many events and one of the major pieces of feedback I have received was that people were fascinated to hear the story behind the haiku. Therefore, scattered throughout this collection are my reminiscences of how some of the following haiku were written. Above all, Haiku Ice is a memory of my Devonian winters. Pictures of winters recorded as haiku for everyone to experience and enjoy,’ P.J. Reed.
