Verschiedene Bauelementarchitekturen wie Einzelschicht-, planare Heteroübergangs-, Bulk-Heteroübergangs- und Tandemzellen werden anhand von Schlüsselmechanismen analysiert: Exzitonengenerierung, Diffusion, Dissoziation und Ladungssammlung; wichtige Leistungskennzahlen (Voc, Jsc, FF, PCE und EQE) werden zusammen mit funktionalen Materialien für aktive Schichten, Transportschichten und Elektroden untersucht.
