Die „Integration von Theorie und Praxis' gilt als das Grundprogramm von Journalistenausbildung. Um aber mithilfe dieser Formel Curricula präzise analysieren oder planen zu können, bleibt der bisherige Praxis-Begriff zu vieldeutig. Die Studie zerlegt ihn: in aristotelische Praxis als Handeln in Eigenverantwortung und die ebenfalls altgriechische Techne als berufliche Techniken. Aus Praxis, Techne und Theorie in Journalismus, Journalismusforschung, externen Disziplinen und Alltag entsteht ein trennscharfer Begriffsplan des „Lerngeschehens' mit zwölf Feldern. Deren ausgewogenes Vorkommen definiert einen neuen Begriff von Integration. Vier Experimente mit Journalistik-Curricula in Deutschland und den USA belegen die analytische Leistungsfähigkeit des Entwurfs. Versucht wird eine terminologische Grundlegung von Curriculumsforschung in der Journalistik auf die Industrienorm DIN 2342 „Begriffe der Terminologielehre'.
