L’utilisation d’implants dentaires pour la réhabilitation orale des mâchoires partiellement ou totalement édentées est devenue une modalité de traitement de routine avec des résultats fiables à long terme. La pose d’un implant nécessite une largeur et une profondeur suffisantes de la crête alvéolaire. Les méthodes courantes pour restaurer le déficit osseux comprennent la régénération osseuse guidée, la division de la crête et les greffes osseuses autogènes en onlay. La technique de fractionnement de la crête est utilisée pour élargir une crête étroite afin de placer des implants de diamètre adéquat. La greffe osseuse onlay consiste à fixer un bloc d’os autogène dans la zone du défaut osseux afin de régénérer l’os sur le site hôte.
