For 27 years I have been lucky enough to enjoy the beauty of Harmony Farm Rice Lake. It has been my sanctuary from the dark, unpleasantness and sadness in this world. It isn’t just the amazing views and natural ecology in relation to the often incongruous human ecology that drew me to it but the animals that resided on the property as well.Through their happiness of being able to wander over the 55 acres of rough pasture and live an almost undomesticated life, I felt their energy. I saw their behaviour change to one of gratitude within days of their arrival.It helped me realize that their freedom was important to them. That living closer to a natural life brings them joy. The unusual thing was that because of this, they were happy to share that joy with human visitors.I’ll never forget one day being there with a male visitor when he said 'this is what I will think of when I need sanctuary.' Since I was lucky enough to spend my time here, I had forgotten that this isn’t readily available to everyone.The farm welcomes people in need of serenity with open arms but not everyone can travel the distance to be part of it. My goal is to bring the tranquility of this rustic farm to you. Enjoy!
