Gorski vijenac predstavlja najznacajnije Njegosevo delo. Obrađujuci temu istrebljenja poturica u Crnoj Gori s kraja 17. i pocetka 18. veka, ovaj ep svrstao se u one izuzetne tvorevine poezije u koje kao da se sleglo sveukupno filozofsko i pesnicko iskustvo citavih epoha u zivotu pojedinih naroda i civilizacija.-----Njegos’s epic‑dramatic poem-arguably the central work of South‑Slavic literature-unites folk cadence, philosophy and the ethics of resistance. Set amid the struggle against Ottoman rule, The Mountain Wreath is less a straightforward narrative than a choral meditation on freedom, honor, faith and the fate of a small nation. This accessible edition presents the poem in its full sweep for students, general readers and anyone drawn to world epics that still think through the present.

The collection arcs from, at one extreme, the parsimonies of the household, to the transce...

    Edward V Bonner
The very title of Edward V. Bonner's first volume of poetry, One Kiss (Ingram, 2015), suggests some ways in which the poems inside balance the universal with the particular. Most of the poems examine the themes of beauty and risk, pleasure and danger, in the context of one of three kinds of relationships: to romantic partners, to the spiritual world, and to the world of nature....
