It is with great respect for Dot Chadwick that I write these few words about her book which is truly a work of 'God’s Art' through her. Dot has been a tremendous blessing to our congregation since she and her husband, Brad, moved to Dunnellon, Florida. We have been blessed to include her poems in a variety of ways in our worship and outreach services. We are so excited that we now have in book form much of her literary craft to enrich our lives and others. Dot always lists at the end of her work the Biblical and historical references that she has used in her research as the Holy Spirit has spoken to her.The last two years she has led our Good Friday services with a series of dramatic readings including digital presentations and one work arranged to music. What a blessing! I know you will enjoy her book or as she would emphasize, 'God’s Words' through her.Blessings, Pastor Eddie FulfordDot’s poetry can only be assessed as time well spent with God. These truth filled wisdoms and creative expressions (inspired by the Holy Spirit), have allowed Dot to capture special facets of a scripture; putting forth a blossoming effect for eyes and ears, mind and soul. I have enjoyed sharing her poetry in Christian broadcasts worldwide. - Bishop Judy Butler Rivers, Today’s New Revelation

‘There’s a touch of both Dickinson and Larkin in Jennifer Chrystie’s mature exhumation of the tales and tropes of family. Figures who could so easily flit like phantoms in her well honed poetry are palpably enjoying an after-life in the poet’s ability to redeem through deep understanding. The collection arcs from, at one extreme, the parsimonies of the household, to the transce...

  • One Kiss
    Edward V Bonner
The very title of Edward V. Bonner's first volume of poetry, One Kiss (Ingram, 2015), suggests some ways in which the poems inside balance the universal with the particular. Most of the poems examine the themes of beauty and risk, pleasure and danger, in the context of one of three kinds of relationships: to romantic partners, to the spiritual world, and to the world of nature....

  • The Truth about A
    Maureen O'Shaughnessy
In his interpretation of Antigone, Seamus Heaney says, ‘Nobody can be sure they are always right.’ Maureen O’Shaughnessy’s The Truth about A further attends to this idea through various readings of the myth as portrayed by Sophocles, Brecht, Ted Hughes, Anne Carson and, most particularly, Euripides. Set in contemporary Sydney, among a fictional underworld family, The Truth abou...
